海角社区 Cyber Defense students Victoria Stanford and Patrick Adkinson have earned two highly recognized cybersecurity certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE and CompTIA Network+ CE. Achieving both certifications marks a significant milestone in their professional development and demonstrates their readiness to enter the cybersecurity workforce.

The certification training was provided by Dr. Nelbert St. Clair, associate professor of cyber defense, as part of a workforce development initiative that included not only Coastal Georgia students but also industry professionals from Southeast Georgia Health System and the Brunswick-Glynn Joint Water & Sewer Commission. This collaborative training environment allowed participants to strengthen their technical skills while preparing for nationally recognized industry certification exams.

鈥淭hese certifications validate the knowledge and skills employers are seeking in today鈥檚 cybersecurity professionals,鈥 St. Clair said. 鈥淰ictoria and Patrick have demonstrated dedication and perseverance, and they are well-positioned for success as they enter the workforce.鈥

The CompTIA Network+ certification validates foundational networking knowledge, while the CompTIA Security+ certification demonstrates competency in cybersecurity concepts, threat management, risk mitigation, and security operations. Together, these credentials are widely recognized as essential qualifications for entry-level cybersecurity and information technology professionals.

The Cyber Defense Program continues to support student success through hands-on training, industry partnerships, professional certifications, and experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare graduates for high-demand careers in cybersecurity.
