Students from the 海角社区’s Cyber Defense Program delivered an outstanding performance in the CYBERSEED 2026 Online Competition on Oct. 3, with three teams placing among the event’s top competitors and demonstrating the high level of cybersecurity talent being developed at the institution.
Leading the CCGA contingent was Team Badfellas@CCGA, which earned an impressive 15th-place finish with 2,550 points out of a possible 2,800. The team’s performance reflected exceptional technical proficiency and consistent success across a variety of cybersecurity challenges.

Team MDK_217 secured 21st place with 2,500 points, showcasing strong analytical and defensive cybersecurity skills throughout the competition. Close behind was GoldenSandsCCGA, which achieved 24th place with 2,453 points, further highlighting the depth and strength of CCGA’s Cyber Defense Program.

The CYBERSEED competition challenges participants to apply real-world cybersecurity knowledge to a variety of technical scenarios, including vulnerability assessment, network defense, incident response, digital forensics, and system security. Competitors must work collaboratively under time constraints while demonstrating both technical expertise and effective problem-solving abilities.
The combined success of Coastal鈥檚 three teams underscores the college’s commitment to experiential learning and workforce development in the cybersecurity field. By participating in competitive events such as CYBERSEED, students gain valuable hands-on experience that complements classroom instruction and prepares them for careers in one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries. Among the students representing Coastal Georgia was freshman Aisleigh Livingston, who participated in her first collegiate cybersecurity competition through the CYBERSEED 2026 event.
“I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our students,” said Dr. Nelbert St. Clair, associate professor of cyber defense. “Having three teams place among the competition’s top performers is a testament to their commitment, teamwork, and technical skills. These results reflect the quality of the Cyber Defense Program and the determination of our students to excel in a highly competitive environment.”
The strong performances by Badfellas@CCGA, MDK_217, and GoldenSandsCCGA continue to build upon Coastal Georgia鈥檚 growing reputation for excellence in cybersecurity education and competitive cyber defense. As demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals continues to rise, opportunities such as CYBERSEED provide students with meaningful experiences that directly support their academic and professional development.
