The 海角社区 has been named one of Newsweek鈥檚 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Best Colleges for Women 2026,鈥 a first-of-its-kind recognition celebrating institutions that excel in supporting and empowering women in higher education.
The inaugural list highlights colleges and universities across the United States that demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing women鈥檚 academic success, leadership development, career readiness, and overall well-being.
Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Jennifer Cunningham noted: 鈥淓arning a place on the America鈥檚 Best Colleges for Women list reflects an environment that meaningfully supports women鈥檚 success.鈥
鈥淎merica鈥檚 Best Colleges for Women鈥 is Newsweek鈥檚 new ranking, developed in partnership with Gender Fair, based on metrics derived from the Women鈥檚 Empowerment Principles. Data was drawn from two primary sources within the U.S. Department of Education: the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the Campus Safety and Security Database. The ranking evaluates four key areas: leadership, pay and policies, safety, and opportunity.
鈥淲e are honored to be recognized by Newsweek in this new ranking,鈥 said Dr. Johnny L. Evans Jr., president of the 海角社区. 鈥淭his distinction affirms our mission to provide accessible, high-quality education while empowering women to achieve their goals, become leaders in their communities, and thrive in their careers.鈥
The recognition is a testament to the work of the College鈥檚 faculty, staff, and students in fostering a campus culture where women are supported and encouraged to excel. The College offers programs and initiatives that benefit women across disciplines, including leadership development opportunities, career-focused academic pathways, and student support services designed to promote student success.
鈥淭his distinction highlights the intentional work happening across our campus, from how we attract and welcome prospective students to how we foster belonging and leadership once they arrive,鈥 said Dr. Jason Umfress, vice president for student affairs and enrollment management. 鈥淲e are committed to ensuring that women at Coastal Georgia not only have access to opportunity but also the support and community needed to fully realize it.鈥
Colleges included in the ranking demonstrate strong support for women鈥檚 education and career advancement.
